Of course, you could go the classic route and make lots of physical changes to your vehicle, or you could add a bunch of useful entertainment features. However, with today’s technological advancements, car manufacturers often trick their cars out before they get anywhere near customers. This includes futuristic motors, environmentally friendly manufacturing, and high-level security protection. Check out some of the most tricked out cars on the road.

Let’s start with the Tesla Cybertruck, a Blade Runner inspired ultra-strong vehicle. The Chevy Tahoe CIT is an armored SUV used to transport expensive items — hence “CIT,” meaning “cash in transit.” The smart thing about this tricked out car is that it doesn’t look like it’s tricked out at all. The Chevy Tahoe is low-profile, making it extra safe for moving expensive items.

Swedish automotive brand Polestar started production on their new Polestar 2 car in 2020. The vehicle is fully-electric with 408 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. Impressively, the interior of this car doesn’t include any whale skin, and is actually completely vegan instead.

German engineering group EDAG unveiled its 16th concept car, the Light Cocoon, in 2014. The innovative design uses 3D printing and biomimicry to create a car that’s modeled on biological processes. For example, the outer shell of the car was inspired by plant leaves and uses a metal layer as a sort of skeletal bone structure.

Incredibly, the Toyota FV2 has no steering wheel, no brakes, and no gas pedal. Can this really be considered a car at all? Well yes, but it’s perhaps better described as a futuristic car pod. The Toyota FV2 is controlled by the driver’s face, body weight, and body language, and comes with an augmented reality screen.

Designed for one person, the Toyota FV2 can also be driven while standing, much like a Segway. Altogether, this tricked out AI vehicle has four wheels, arranged in a cross.

Another concept car is the Kia Pop, first revealed by the South Korean manufacturers at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. This micro-car is a three-seater that’s designed for urban driving, and fittingly, it can be parked anywhere.

The Porsche Taycan is the first electric car from the German automobile manufacturer. The car boasts two synchronous motors that produce more than 600 horsepower, and the vehicle travels 298 miles from just one charge.

Concept hybrid sports car, the Hongqi S9, was first presented at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Chinese luxury car company made the vehicle to celebrate 70 years of the People’s Republic of China, and to give a taste of their plan to release a hybrid supercar.

The AeroMobil took 20 years to develop and includes folding wings, and fins around the wheels. The most recent version has a hybrid-powered engine and is based on a Subaru boxer engine. This flying car has maximum speeds of 120 mph, and 99 mph road speed.

Inspired by 2009 science-fiction epic Avatar, the Mercedes-Benz Vision Avtr is a concept car tricked out with futuristic features. The concept car was revealed at CES in Las Vegas in 2020, and uses various biologically-inspired designs.

This car can be charged to 80% in less than five minutes, and goes from 1 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds. The first models of the Piëch Mark Zero GT arrive in 2022 and will weigh under 4,000 pounds.

The Renault Kwid is an SUV-like vehicle with a roof-mounted, remote-controlled quadcopter. This drone-like device is named the Flyer Companion, and is launched from a dock at the rear of the Kwid’s roof. It can either be controlled from a tablet inside the car, or used on an automated mode.

A two-seat coupe, the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 is a hybrid concept car that made its first appearance at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Much like other Bentleys, this luxury vehicle is mostly handmade, but it also marks the company’s first use of 3D printing.

First shown at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the Toyota i-Road is a mixture of a motorcycle and a car. Designed for city use, this concept vehicle reaches 36 mph, has automatic gears, and contains just three buttons for driving.

With a 90kwh battery pack, the GFG Style Kangaroo aims to reach 279 miles from one charge, and comes with a 483-horsepower. This luxury, low down SUV has an advanced aluminum space frame, a carbon fiber body, and exaggerated wheel wells.

So far, no car on this list has boasted solar power features. That is, until now. The Lightyear One is an all-electric solar car that could survive for months without needing to be plugged in. The car is decked out in solar panels, including 54 square feet of panels on the bonnet, roof, and trunk. In total, the car has over 1,000 glass protected solar panels.
