Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn Make An Unexpected Announcement

In Hollywood, it’s been proven that making a relationship last is extremely difficult. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have been together for 34 years, but they just recently made an announcement that has left fans without words.

Private Announcement

Goldie Hawn has been vocal about how hard a long-term relationship can be. In an interview with People Magazine, the star said, “monogamy is a very tough order. You’re in the prime of your life, you are attracted to other people, potentially, you have fantasies about that.” This was her way of telling the public something so much bigger…

Turbulent Beginnings

In the beginning, Goldie and Kurt didn’t have an instant connection. They met for the first time on the set of 1968’s The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. This meant that the pair met very early in their acting careers. At that point, Russell had only starred in three other movies, while this was the first feature that Hawn had ever starred in.

A Huge Age Gap

Despite enjoying each others company on the set of The One And Only…, Russell and Dawn were far from starting a relationship together. There was chemistry, but they wouldn’t see each other again for while. “I thought he was adorable, but he was much too young,” Hawn said in an interview. There was a five-year gap between the two and Hawn was 21 at the time. This meant that she had just reached legal drinking age and 16-year-old Russell was still a teenager.

The Breakout Star

So Russell and Hawn went their separate ways and got on with their lives. Both stars went on to have extremely successful careers. Just one year after they shared the same screen together, Hawn won the ultimate honor of her profession: an Academy Award. She was awarded Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Cactus Flower. This was followed by another Oscar nomination for her role in Private Benjamin. Her career blew up and the rest was history.
