Russell has a mysterious history with the filmmaking genius, Walt Disney. Apparently, Walt Disney’s last written words before passing away in 1966 were “Kurt Russell.” And before making it in the big time and meeting his one true love, Russell actually worked as a child actor for “The Big Mouse”. The actor actually signed a contract with the studio to feature in many movies later on in life. We can only assume that Walt Disney saw something special in little Kurt.

Russell had quite the dilemma growing up. Between acting and playing professional baseball, he couldn’t choose what career path he wanted to pursue the most. Just like his father, Russell started playing baseball in the minor leagues. He played for the California Angels and was a lead batter with a .563 average. Russell, unfortunately, tore his rotator cuff during a game. Because he never fully recovered from this injury, he decided that acting was the only viable option for him.
